How off-grid are we going?
The other day one of my coworkers asked me how "off-grid" we were planning on going. You know who you are... *cough*
Yes we will have electricity, plumbing, and internet. We aren't going to be living in a tent out in the woods with no modern day accommodations, that's just crazy!
From what I've seen we should be able to run a tiny house on wheels as if it were any other house. Just think of it as a fancy RV. They have everything you need, you just hook it up and your good to go.
Here is a great example of what we've been looking into. You can check out more pictures on tiny house listings to see the inside and have a better idea of what were going to be living in!
There are other things we need to consider than just what kind of house we want to live in. Like how we are going to run it with every thing we're used to in a regular stationary house. I think figuring out how to run power and water through the house will be relatively easy. It's the disposing of waste and dirty water that I think we are going to have to learn to adjust to a little more.
But here is some of the stuff we have been looking into:
That's just a few things. There's still so much more that we have to look into. So we will be getting in touch with a realtor before we visit CO. Hopefully if we give them our check list of things we want they can find what we are looking for.

But here is some of the stuff we have been looking into:
- Land that already has power lines and well water
- Land with trees for a heat source
- Solar/wind power
- Composting
- Satellites (for internet of course)
That's just a few things. There's still so much more that we have to look into. So we will be getting in touch with a realtor before we visit CO. Hopefully if we give them our check list of things we want they can find what we are looking for.
